Thank you to Ian for the motivation to finally get round to adding another update! I always knew it would be hard to find the motivation to keep updating this blog but had no idea how hard it would be, especially after buying Skyrim!! – Definitely negative EV buying that game….. I used to be a poker player… until I took an arrow to the knee!! haha (most probably won’t understand that joke?)
Hard to think of everything that has happened since the last update – Of course we had Christmas and New Years – Nothing exciting on Christmas day but we went out for New Years to the Cork Bar where it was €50 for all you can drink!! – I will have some of that I think…
If I remember correctly, I had 6 double jack and cokes within the first hour and a half, I am not one for hanging around with “free” drink to be had – It was actually a fairly quiet night, not nearly as busy as we thought it would be – There were two Swedish girls we got talking to, but they took off to the Hilton Hotel where it was €100 for open bar, but I had already paid £50 for an open bar where I was and being Scottish I was having none of that!! Attractive women or no attractive women, I had paid for my drink and no amount of eye fluttering is going to make me pay for more!…
There was two Scottish women at the bar – typical “beauties” haha, one was definitely nicer than the other and no amount of persuasion could get Ashley to “take the bullet” for me haha, they took off soon enough as the ugly one took a liking to me and I told her that I preferred her friend – Probably not a good thing
Oh ya, I remember challenging Milosh – the crazy Serbian (see previous blog) to a fight haha (in a friendly way!) – Seriously the guy looks like a proper MMA fighter and would snap me like a twig, but luckily he saw the funny side of it and just laughed.
There was a bit of confrontation at the end of the night when some twat started shouting at Chantelle (Milosh’s bit of stuff) and super hero Darragh stepped in to save the day, basically just stood infront of him with a smile on my face and he literally ran to the toilets and locked the door – I shit you not! haha – Am I that ugly / scary? – I will go with intimidating haha – Milosh found it very amusing though and promised to teach me how to fight Serbian style if I teach him how to play poker – Not sure what fighting Serbian style means and unsure if I am looking forward to it or not, but should be interesting!
On a Poker front, things have been going quite well, still not putting in the volume I would like, but turning over a fairly steady profit – still unsure completely what games I want to be playing, whether cash games, SNG’s or MTT’s – I am mixing and matching which probably is not good as different styles needed for each, but will see how things go over the next few weeks.
With winter nearly over am looking forward to Spring and Summer to experience some proper Mediterranean weather – Already am getting used to it here and it starting to feel cold, even though if I was back in Dublin I would be out in shorts and T-Shirt!
Boxes I had Pete ship to Scotland finally arrived over, probably would of just been easier to ship them straight to Malta, I am sure there was a reason I didn’t? All my books + DVD’s / Suit’s and my Kilt!! Need to find the courage to wear it out now, wearing a kilt out on a night out is basically an invitation for women to sexually assault you!!! Can be a terrifying experience…….
I will be sure and try keep a more regular update, but no promises – I definitely need to get out and take more photos of the place – especially the Cork Bar!
